McIntosh Moorman Interior Design

White kitchen envy up in this post! The stools above and below are incredible, albeit not very practical for a kitchen but who the hell cares?! Auckland, New Zealand based McIntosh Moorman Interior Design is all about textiles, textures and patterns that add drama and personality to their spaces. Like those stools. Did you see those stools?! 😉

A cottage in a forest

Posted on Sun, 22 Nov 2015 by KiM

I spotted this year-round cottage on Décormag yesterday and had to share because this is my dream summer getaway….except it needs to be lake-fronted. And maybe in a warmer climate, like Mexico. 😉 This stunner is located in the Eastern Townships of Québec and was designed by Atelier Barda. I am dying over the black stained wood exterior, and the simplicity of the interior is all you need in a second residence. And a must in a dwelling with surroundings this beautiful – those large windows framing scenes of the forest as art. (Photos: Yves Lefebvre)

Modern organic

A limited palette of greys and whites. Limed floors and boards on the walls. Rich timber and marble in the kitchen. Pops of yellow and orange and blue. Clean lines, no frills. All washed with soft light through French doors and beautiful windows. Charleston-based interior designer Cortney Bishop calls it modern organic. I call it swoon worthy. Such stylish simplicity.

Kevin Dumais – Bridgehampton

Posted on Tue, 29 Sep 2015 by KiM

This rather large weekend retreat in Bridgehampton, New York is quite the gathering spot for friends and family of the homeowners. Interior designer Kevin Dumais gave the formal/traditional structure some casual comfort when decorating the home and the result is cool urban sophistication with a retro/vintage vibe. The inside is pretty spectacular, and then when you head outside – BOOM! It just keeps getting better. Photos: Eric Piasecki. (It’s been a while since I featured his work here and here)
