“A thoughtful project that we took down to the studs to transform an old cottage to a beautiful new modernized home with many intentional designs to reflect the old home.”

At the base of Dalt Vila in South East Ibiza stands Palacio Orféo, a calm oasis amidst the neighbourhood’s bustle. Built for a government minister in the late 19th century and designed by Joan Gómez Ripoll, it combines traditional and contemporary elements. Renovated with architect Pascal Cheikh Djavadi it features a soft yellow façade, beams, and ornate balustrades. Highlights include a first-floor library, Emperador marble bathroom, minimalist kitchen and a sunlit terrace with expansive views. For sale via Domus Nova.

In Crouch End, North London, a young family sought help to enhance their home’s functionality and add colour and warmth. Laura Stephens Interiors redesigned the open-plan ground floor, transforming the middle room with a wood-burning stove, armchairs, a rug, and a warm paint scheme. The adjacent kitchen’s new paint scheme added warmth and character. Large glazed doors in cerulean blue brightened the hallway. Upstairs, the master bedroom featured soft blue and pink tones, luxurious furnishings, and unique repurposed antiques. The family living area and cinema room were made both practical and sophisticated.

“Picture a young family of globetrotters who recently settled in the land of bikes and canals, seeking a home that’s both timeless and fun. This nomadic family of four wanted to revel in vibrant colours and playful spaces that spark joy and curiosity. From kicking back in the music room – records playing – to entertaining their tribe, this was the perfect place to lay down some memories. As usual, we gathered from a global black-book of both new and vintage gems, including unique finds from local Dutch artisans, to create an atmosphere that’s truly one of a kind.”
