No 131

Posted on Thu, 4 Jun 2015 by midcenturyjo

Fantasy running away time. No 131 in Cheltenham is a restaurant and bar with 11 bedrooms. Grade II listed Georgian building beautifully restored. Love the common spaces. Very boho velvet eclectic. I think I would indulge in too much wine and food just so I could loll in one of the fabulous bathrooms before I started my immoderate grazing again.

Weekend away

Posted on Fri, 29 May 2015 by midcenturyjo

It’s Friday. Time to escape the dreary grind of 9 to 5. My choice for a virtual weekend away (because I’m working all the way through) is this Scotland Island home available through Contemporary Hotels. The view, the modern meets retro vibe, the peace and quiet, the fact that it can only be approached by water. A touch of paradise.

Lounge

Lounge – to pass time idly and indolently, to rest or recline indolently, to loll, a sofa for reclining, a place for sitting, waiting. Want to come join me for a coffee and a long gossip in the Guest Lounge at London’s  Artist Residence?

Getaway

Posted on Fri, 24 Apr 2015 by midcenturyjo

Getaway, faraway. Need a virtual escape from the daily grind? Join me for a fantasy long weekend here in Belgium. We’ll rent this converted carriage house. There will be lazing about and chatting, communal meals and lots of wine, quiet moments and riotous laughter. Aaahhhh! We can dream can’t we. The Heerlijkheid Van Marrem Residence via Kid & Coe.

Exquisite escape

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a four day Easter break than exploring the über fabulous city of Sydney especially if the base for my foray was this apartment at XXV Challis. From the exquisite interiors by Pamela Makin to its perfect position in Potts Point I’d be tempted not to stray too far. Actually I think I’d never want to leave. From the amazing stable of prestige properties at Contemporary Hotels.
