Not the first colour that comes to mind when you’re designing your kitchen but I’m loving the cabinetry in this kitchen and scullery by Plain English. The colour is Plain English’s ‘Rusty Nail’, the perfect foil for the textured walls, copper sink and all that lovely linen.

Clean, contemporary lines in a light-filled open plan layout. Think modern living with a touch of luxury. Natural textiles mixed with metals and wood provide the materials palette while restrained colour choices add to the sense of space and draw the eye to lovely views through huge windows. Leander Luxe by Kristin Marino of KozyKasa, a full-service interior design studio located in Austin, Texas.

Dipping into the portfolio of interior designer Julia Barnard. Fabulous fabrics, comfy upholstered chairs, roll-top baths, overblown flowers and the smell of beeswax on brown furniture. I can hear the whack of cricket ball on bat, smell the scones in the Aga, know the kids are home from pony club soon and all is well in the English countryside.

Neoclassical in Madrid’s Barrio de las Letras where restraint meets drama. Clever use of white, split levels, mirror and bespoke storage elevate this bijou apartment from tired and pokey to classic with an edge. By Marta Goyanes and Cristina Espejo of Studio Espejo Goyanes

Sydney-based design firm Arent&Pyke was commissioned to complete the interior design and furnishing of this home extension designed by Luigi Rosselli Architects. The light-filled interiors combine luxury touches with family living all warmed by a colour palette of rose and terracotta.
