Classic and timeless, warm and inviting. This is the essence of Toronto-based Kate + Amanda. Kate and Amanda believe in the relaxed home that is both family friendly and stylish. Their aesthetic, light and fresh and never too formal. After all homes are meant for living in and making memories. A well designed space should be the foundation of a happy home.

Back in May Jo featured an absolutely divine kitchen by Minnesota-based interior designer Bria Hammel. I came across her portfolio recently and fell in love with so many more spaces that I thought a second look at her work was in order. By designing fresh, refined, welcoming spaces, we make a beautiful home functional and a functional home beautiful. Yes. Yes you do!

Who would have thought that rich green cabinetry and a pretty in pink marble would form the basis of a knock out kitchen? Add a wall of mirror, textured tile and brass accents and you might be forgiven for thinking that the whole thing a tad OTT but no! It’s glamourous and practical, fun and functional. Love it! My second stalking victim I mean house is another little Victorian terrace this time in the Sydney suburb of Bondi Junction. Here extra space has been added through a modern two storey extension to the rear. Extra light floods in through bi-fold doors and clerestory windows and like our other house there is a striking modern staircase. Link here while it lasts.

Sick of white kitchens? How about doing something a little different and going with a pale mint green? This Utah Craftsman home got an updated, super bright renovated kitchen that is really pretty in this beautiful shade. Another gem of a project by cityhomeCOLLECTIVE.
