Yesterday I had featured a couple of homes that had been decked out by Connecticut interior designer Heide Hendricks (here and here). Today I thought I would share a bit more of her designs because I am pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy her traditional spaces. Must be because she gives them a bit of an edge with coloured trim, vintage light fixtures and mid-century chairs. The result is eclectic and unexpected and spaces I would absolutely enjoy hanging out in.

While on the subject of traditional homes, I thought I would share this 1929 farmhouse designed by, once again, Heide Hendricks. It is exactly the type of home I imagine when I think of life on Prince Edward Island (where my husband is from). I have to show this to my mother-in-law. Maybe she won’t think I’m such a nutcase if she sees I blogged this. 😉

North London’s Mark Lewis Interior Design creates some of the most beautiful Euro-style rustic kitchens I have ever seen. Forget sleek and modern when you can have reclaimed wood, carrera marble, big old farmhouse sinks and funky faucets made of copper pipe. I adore each and every one of these. (And Jo featured another one a while ago)

Beauty and character. Sophistication and an effortless style. Comfort and elegance. Patina. Light. Calm. A simple backdrop for the perfect piece. Just words I’m tossing out there as I try to express how much I like this Greenwich Village Apartment by San Francisco based Katie Martinez Design.

I just want to eat this kitchen up (on a giant waffle cone!) and LOOK AT THOSE FLOOR TILES!!!! GORGEOUS!
