Additions to an historic Fitzroy, Melbourne home don’t scream “look at me, look at me'” Instead they are subtle, elegant, restrained. With references to the industrial past of this inner city suburb the open plan living spaces are flexible and fabulous. By Carr Design Group.

OMG I’m feeling blue! Not sad. Definitely not sad. The colour blue. I’m in love with this beautiful Scandi kitchen photographed by Jonas Ingerstedt for Residence Kitchens.

I’m stalking this house for the kitchen. Now you see it, now you don’t island bench and the wall of plants, the view out to the deck and the lovely light. A brick bungalow in Kensington, Sydney keeps its architectural details but is slick and clean lined with its renovation. Did I mention the lovely light? Link here while it lasts.
P.S. It’s a Häcker kitchen.

This extension to an old weatherboard home in Northcote, Melbourne is good design, plain and simple. The repetitive use of timber boxes gives a clean lined and contemporary feel while the retention of heritage features does not detract from this modern family home. Light filled, open, blending old and new. Who would know what is hiding behind the old facade? Stompbox by Melbourne based building designers Altereco.
