Queen Street Residence by Phoebe Nicol. In response to the brief from a client seeking a home that would reflect their love of originality, quality finishes and comfort, Phoebe has delivered a living environment where textures, colour and form come together in an unique interplay. Classically timeless pieces are complemented by bespoke contemporary art and artefacts, without sacrificing comfort, liveability or durability. Seemingly effortlessly beautiful. Taking classical design up a notch.

Interior design and art, the two great passions of Juan Moreno López-Calull of John Brown Projects. This Barcelona apartment with its contemporary clean lines, wonderful light and city views is elevated by the choice of modern sculpture and large art works. It’s the perfect example is big is good, cluttered is a bother.

Aside from every colour under the sun being incorporated into this 200 sq m 1960s Sydney home you also have exposed brick, mural painted on brick, ‘crazy pavers’ flooring, tile, marble, white cork etc. making this home as dynamic and energizing as can be. It is utterly fascinating how design firm YSG managed to turn chaos into something really special. (Photos: Prue Ruscoe, Styling: Alicia Sciberras)

I am in complete denial that summer is over. I am trying to mentally prepare myself to be frozen and miserable for the next 6+ months. In the meantime I will continue to deny the inevitable by staring longingly at summer homes such as this neutral, modern Montauk beauty by Alexander Design.

This is one of those times where the interior of a home really does nothing for me but I would take the exterior in a heartbeat. This is a recently completed 6500 sq ft contemporary designed farmhouse in Surry, England, with a to-die-for exterior (so I won’t bother sharing the interior). It features a natural swimming pond, pod summer house for sheltered outdoor dining, separate annexe, assorted stables, arenas, and barns set on 115 acres with stunning views of the Surrey/Sussex/Kent countryside. Available as a location home through Shoot Factory.
