Loving the casual and warm vibe of this Newport Beach, CA home that looks a bit mid-century but reads more contemporary farmhouse. Lots of pale wood, stone, tile, marble add lots of texture and the neutral colour palette really allows these features to take centre stage. The to-die-for views are a welcome distraction. “The Cable House transforms a small, dark workers’ cottage into a contemporary family home, finding elegant solutions to the challenges posed by the dense urban environment, narrow south-facing site and heritage context.”
Light is drawn into the space through tall windows and skylights while the sensitive roofline sits sympathetically with the neighbours. Vines trail lazily over steel cables inside and out softening the structure over time. By Tom Roberston Architects.
“As you navigate through the series of pavilions, the spaces expand and compress, both horizontally and vertically creating joyful moments for the young family as they go about their everyday life.“

Calm, balanced, refined. Timeless interiors carefully curated. Understated, elegant and oh so English. Notting Hill Villa by Rose Uniacke.
Alison Giese Interiors based in San Antonio is all about creating eclectic yet timeless homes with soul. Liveable, comfortable, with a level of class that will endure. This first kitchen is so simple yet gorgeous with a hint of Parisian café chic. Stashing it away in my inspiration folder as I am on the hunt for ideas for my eventual kitchen renovation that needs to highlight my new art deco light fixtures.
