Timeless style with a muted colour palette, a contemporary/classic take on updating a Tudor in Los Altos Hills, California, by Christine Lin of Form + Field. A couple based in Asia tasked us with creating a comfortable family home to host 3 generations and guests. Stylistically, the wife prefers modern while the husband has slightly more traditional leanings. We struck a subtle balance between the two styles, respecting the Tudor style architecture, and incorporated family heirlooms throughout the space.

Relaxed, beachy, simple … and simply beautiful. What’s not to love about this Amagansett beach cottage by NYC and Hamptons based interior designer Marie-Christine McNally of Marie-Christine Design? A neutral colour palette elevated by the use of texture, an eclectic mix of new and old, nothing overly precious or pretentious, just welcoming timeless design perfect for a beach getaway.

Still dreaming of travelling outside of Australia. I think our borders will be closed for quite some time. It’s great to have some sense of security in these trying times but it doesn’t stop my mind wandering to distant lands … or in this case not so distant. Time for a little virtual getaway to Casa Palma in Canggu, Bali. Simple, uncomplicated holiday style.

It’s a holiday where I live. A three day weekend to get away, relax, rewind. The Cape Beach House designed by Uneek Interior Solutions in the Northern New South Wales coastal town of Byron Bay is a stylish bed and breakfast redolent of that laid-back sun, sand and surfing riff. Unfortunately the border between Queensland and New South Wales is closed and although this fab beach house is only a couple of hours away for now I’ll have to daydream of a future stay.
