This, friends, is the most perfect cottage ever. Mountain Cottage in Cashiers, NC. Designed by Basic Projects. Our whole office called this cottage ‘The Dream’. Our clients are some of our favorites we’ve ever worked with – not only did they have impeccable taste, they have an amazing view on life and had collected so many little gems to include in the decor – they made this project as fun and easy as it gets. They told us they wanted an “english cottage in the NC mountains”… so with that, we did not fear lots of pattern, plenty of frames and books to cozy up with by the double sided wood burning fireplace and materials that were “family friendly” so the kids could walk through with muddy boots – all staples in the English countryside.

Wow. WOW. It’s spaces like these that make me crave earth tones sooooooo much. Shades of white, cream, brown and black make for such a warm, easy-on-the-eye atmosphere. Paris designer Émilie Bonaventure of BE Attitude created an absolute masterpiece with this apartment in the 9th arrondissement. Those curved windows and doors are such a dream.

The older I get the more I find myself appreciated classic furniture, whether it be mid-century, art deco or more traditional. This home (of actress Jordana Brewster) in Los Angeles was designed by Chiara de Rege and most of the shopping for the items was done in the home of Jordana’s parents (you can read more about that in this Architectural Digest feature). Who clearly have fabulous taste. I love how the traditional pieces in their surroundings give off a bit of an edgy, youthful vibe.

Amid the hills and forest of Ibiza lies a newly built white-washed villa that exudes comfort and is understatedly luxurious. Based in Los Angeles, Stephen Ken and his partner Beks Opperman design home and travel goods. They dreamt about a space they could use to practice hospitality and offer their designs in a more intimate environment, and so this loft was born. Its minimal aesthetic and clean lines really help to showcase the beauty of the space and their designs against such a beautiful backdrop.
