Wake me up when Monday is over. No go away. I’m serious. I want to stay under the covers and slip back into my dream. The one where I live in a small but perfectly formed beach house in Portugal. Simple and stylish, layers of texture and colours of the sea. A wonderful dream where there are never any Mondays, never any Mondayitis. A dream designed by Vera Iachia of course.

Four apartments over four floors in Istanbul, Turkey. A contemporary renovation of an historic building by designer and artist Sema Topaloğlu. Within a tradition of craft and craftsmanship Topaloğlu weaves her magic creating an earthy but elegant series of rooms that respect the bones of the building while overlaying it with a new history of bespoke pieces. These beautiful apartments are not locked away from us though. 4 Floors Istanbul provides boutique accommodation where mine host is Topaloğlu’s brother Murat. I think a trip to Turkey was just added to my bucket list.

Perhaps I’ve been living under a rock lately, but I only just discovered (thanks to some random googling) the blog The Socialite Family, created by Constance Gennari. Formerly a children’s fashion journalist and then Art buyer for an advertising agency, I recently decided to immerse myself in the world of blogging to share with you my true passion: observing interior design through the eyes of a family, whether in Paris, New York or anywhere else in the world. I am particularly inspired and passionate about these contemporary, urban families and through this blog, wish to inspire you with my interpretation of these unique environments and people. I LOVE this blog – it’s essentially MilK magazine in blog form. And speaking of MilK magazine, check out this stunning vacation home of Isis-Colombe Combréas, editor at MilK, her husband and their 2 children (aged 9 & 15). It is located on l’Ile de Ré, an island off the west cost of France. It’s pretty much my dream home – a rustic structure with a black and white colour scheme with some designer pieces mixed in with vintage finds. GORG!!!

Located on the Italian island of Capri, Capri Suite is a modernized 2 suite hotel designed by ZETASTUDIO Architects. It was originally part of the St. Micheles’ convent built in the XVII century, and the juxtaposition of the rustic architecture with modern furnishings makes this a pretty funky hotel IMHO.

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away lived a photographer of great renown. His talent knew no bounds. His images were awash in soft light. His compositions just so. His portfolio prodigious. He was in fact a magician, a sorcerer of light and a weaver of dreams. His name… Romain Ricard.
