Is your week dragging on like mine? Even though the hump day has passed does it still feel like you are wading waist deep in molasses? If the answer is yes then it’s time for a virtual getaway to the Greek island of Rhodes, to the latest hip and happening, bohemian lifestyle, fun in the sun, über stylish holiday resort. Welcome to Casa Cook. After you’ve checked in and thrown your bags in your room I’ll meet you by the pool.
Magda of Euro Style Interior Design based in Chicago sent along some photos of a bathroom design she recently completed and it is stunning! Such incredible, warm textures. The scoop: My clients wanted to create a bathroom where they can relax after long work hours. Where they can spend time together and enjoy soaking tub time. This design includes rustic and modern elements mixed together, what brings interest to this bathroom. Focal wall of the bathroom is the definitely free standing tub with beautiful wood tiles behind. Bathroom vanity is custom made and designed in collaboration with the client to accomodate their needs.
If my last post had you averting your eyes in horror perhaps something more monochromatic, more soothing is in order. If you prefer your colour limited to discrete pops and not as a rollicking riot then this home on the Rue St Sauveur, Paris may be more to your liking. Sensual sophistication tempered by rustic chic and artisan industrial by Patricia Miyamoto Architecture.

I have always loved this French manor house by Dutch designer Kate Hume. I had seen glimpses of it but never the whole house. On a recent revisit to the website, much to my delight, I discovered that there were more photos and, well, I certainly wasn’t disappointed. It’s stunning. The dialogue between old and new, the casual luxury. Kim first featured a room or two back in 2008 and I love how good design stands the test of time and the foibles of fads.
Atop a picturesque Tuscan hillside is this absolutely sublime stone and brick home that I have completely fallen in love with. Another project by the incredibly talented Elodie Sire of D.mesure. The original architectural details are beautiful in and of themselves with those beams! those stone arches! but the decor heightens the fabulousness of this home. And OMG how many bathrooms are there?! I adore each one and had to feature them all so pardon the lack of photo editing here. I am sure you won’t mind. 😉
