I have fallen completely in love with this house. Modern. Simple details. Recurring circles (the firm’s signature architectural element). Drama with green cabinetry, black walls and tumbling block tile. And if you ever needed to see wall-to-wall carpet in a bedroom done right, astroturf green for the win! Urquhart Estate by Melbourne-based Kennedy Nolan.

There are several words which when combined make my salivate with anticipation. “Mid mod” and “country home” are combinations that definitely tweak my interest but “mid mod country home” definitely has my quivering. Add in “Shelter Island” and well it’s all over. What’s that commandment? “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s goods.” When it comes to this wonderful holiday home then I’m definitely a sinner. I have featured MANY interior design projects by Polish designer Lucyna Kołodziejska over the years but this one is hands down my favourite. This “soft loft” is located in Gdynia on the Polish coast. Home to a couple and their toddler, they wanted the look of a New York loft so concrete and bricks were exposed, vintage radiators and new flooring with a rustic look helped with the loft vibe, along with some vintage furnishings to outfit the space. The homeowners even got creative and made the sink cabinet in one of the bathrooms. I adore the accents of green (yay plants!) throughout, and with black/white/grey the colour scheme is spot on. A++++

My love for British architecture and grandeur is still going strong, so I had to share this new property on the Shoot Factory location home roster. Almost 9,000 sq ft with 6 bedrooms over 6 floors, the architecture inside and out just blows my mind. The decor is a random mix of awesome and questionable pieces but dear lawd, THERE IS SO MUCH SPACE TO WORK WITH! It’s so crazy that every stair landing has enough space that they are like separate little rooms. OMG!!

Today we started with a stunning restoration in Morocco, then a home in the most beautiful bay in Florida, and I just spotted this gorgeous holiday villa in Mallorca that I had to share. It is owned by Lutz (and architect) and Bente (the designer) Reimers who live in Hamburg Germany and this is their paradise escape from harsh winters. I love the combination of Danish and local design in this home. Wonderfully unexpected and works so well together. Via Bo Bedre, photos: Morten Holtum.
