Thank you Thomas for sending us this link (via Fastighetsbryån) to this wonderful church conversion currently for sale in Sweden. On a frosty winter day it looks absolutely magical! Despite only having a couple of rooms, the ceiling height and lightness makes it appear so much larger. Yes, living in a converted church like this is still my dream. And this one may now have topped the list as my favourite.

Often the emphasis of a lake house is on the watery surrounds. Often but not always. Alabama interior designer Andrew Brown has taken his cue not only from the lake but from the leafy green woods surrounding this wonderful house. The interiors have a distinct mid-century vibe layered with natural finishes and an impressive natural photography collection. Peaceful, relaxed yet sophisticated, it’s like a well curated treehouse.

I was excited to spot a new project among the portfolio of one of my favourite architecture & design firms Studio DB. Turns out it is the 3,500 sq ft Amenia, NY weekend home of principals Damian and Britt Zunino. (Pretty sweet for a weekend home!) I adore everything about this house – the blue framed entryway, all of the light fixtures, the curve of the kitchen backsplash, the openness to the outdoors, the Ellie Cahsman floral wallpaper, the marble hex tiles inset around the bathtub…and on and on and on…(Photos: Preston Schlebusch)

Vancouver based interior design firm Hazel + Brown is new-to-me and certainly one I will be keeping my eye on. Melanie and Ben Finkleman have taken a white modern box and given it a simple, relaxed yet chic makeover with some really cool artwork, bits of bright colour accents and some mid-century modern classic furnishings. The result is really youthful and energizing.

Lauren Geremia of Geremia Design continues to impress me with her stunning designs. With this latest project in San Francisco we focused our early efforts on combining traditional craftsmanship with modern detailing to preserve the building’s 20th century San Francisco charm. Incorporating streamlined furniture, highly curated art, and expressive bespoke furnishings, the selective palette was highlighted and the architectural details preserved. That kitchen tho’!
