Christmas wish list

Posted on Thu, 10 Dec 2015 by midcenturyjo

Dear Santa,

It’s been a horrible year but I promise I have been very good. If I ask really, really nicely do you think you could get me this 2 bedroom apartment in an old courthouse building in West Kensington, London? You can get it at Domus Nova. And if I promise to be very good can you see if they’ll leave the furniture? Please? Pretty please? I’m knitting a stocking to fit it in. I’ll hang it on my mantel on Christmas Eve.

Golly thanks so much Santa!

Jo xoxo

Raw

A raw and edgy addition to an Art Deco home sees function contained within the exposed structure of the form. A limited palette of blacks, greys and blonde wood with exposed concrete, rendered walls and untreated plywood give a Scandinavian meets modern Australian feel. A bachelor’s first home

Posted on Wed, 9 Dec 2015 by KiM

Perhaps I am still making up for Sunday’s all black apartment with this blinding white bungalow designed by Los Angeles based Alice Cheng of Shialice. Such a beautifully simple yet powerful statement in this home for a bachelor. His friends are envious no doubt! Light in the main spaces, and dark elsewhere, the combination of these two extremes provides drama. The mid-century elements add a little funk.

Interior designer (and real estate developer) Katty Schiebeck has a signature style. White and neutrals, organic and natural, Scandinavian meets Spanish. This 80m2 attic apartment in Barcelona epitomises the Schiebeck spirit. Classic, minimal, modern luxury.
