A flat in Wrocław Poland

Posted on Thu, 19 Nov 2015 by KiM

A big thank you to Ilona Marus of Namaru design for sending these incredible photos of a flat she designed in Wrocław, Poland. This space has a casual ease about it, with warm woods and mostly white walls that keep it bright and natural. Beautifully styled by Hanna Bułacik and photographed by Nikola Baron. And to note: I am in love with the dining table. 🙂

Modern farmhouse

Some of my favourite décor motifs. Oak beams, bleached floors, monochromatic colour palette, natural fibres and cows in the fields. Tailored and luxurious yet serene and imperfect. Martha’s Vineyard Modern Farmhouse by New York-based Kathleen Walsh Interiors.

Decorating with plants

Urbis Magazine

I adore plants. They are all over my house. I love the idea of bringing the outdoors in, especially when nothing grows outside here for about 6 months of the year. And plants are a fairly inexpensive method of decorating….except when you’re like me and kill off 75% of them, and the other 25% get torn to shreds by feral cats in the middle of the night. One day I vow to do a photo series on the plants I have around my house that I have not managed to kill. In the meantime here is a round-up of some pretty awesome spaces decorated with plants.

Nookie

nookie (n.) – the act of loving a nook… and this nook I found in the portfolio of French-born, New York-based architect  Anik Pearson is definitely doing it for me.

Duck & Shed – Nevern Square

Posted on Mon, 16 Nov 2015 by KiM

This one bedroom flat on Nevern square in Earls Court, London is such a great example of space-saving solutions. Renovated by architecture and design firm Duck & Shed, the 3.8 m ceilings allowed for a mezzanine floor to be created to house a guest bedroom and extra storage. Bespoke joinery was then used throughout the flat, including a fold-away kitchen (so smart!) with a mirrored backsplash and part of the wall opposite the windows (also smart to make the space appear larger). There also seems to be tons of shoe storage so this is every girl living in a big city’s dream!
