Within the historical fabric of this Amsterdam penthouse apartment architectural studio Framework, in collaboration with interior designer Sascha Faase, has created a contemporary home with grand gestures and intimate spaces. A colour palette of white is enriched by browns, blues and greens layered with luxe finishes and textures. Masculine and dramatic with soul.

Marcin and Magda Konopka are the duo behind Ministerstwo Spraw We Wnętrzach (Ministry of Interior Affairs) based in Gdansk, Poland. This is one of their projects – Grand Oak House, where beautiful and warm oak played a central role. Nods towards nature including forest and wheat murals and earthy colours mixed with grey warm up the modern architectural elements of concrete and steel. Gorgeous.

This modern farmhouse in Newport Heights, California has me craving beaches, sun and t-shirt weather. Designed by Greg and Wendy Blackband of Blackband Design, it has a definite beachy colour theme going and looks utterly comfy, casual and unpretentious. Black accents pop against white, greenery adds some nature inside and textures and patterns keeps things eclectic and creates some visual drama. The perfect getaway for entertaining and relaxing.

Pink, a difficult colour to pull off. Barbie Dream House nightmares come to mind. Not with this sophisticated pink and peach palette created by Brett Mickan Interior Design for this suburban Sydney loft. Definitely more moody and modern than saccharine sweet. Love it.
