Serenity now. These spaces by Parisian architect and interior designer Robert Gervais are designed using the most soothing and serene colours. Beautiful. (Previous post of his work here, photos :André Thoraval)

Isn’t that genius???!!! If you have a tiny bathroom and need to put the sink in front of a window – a hinged mirror is the perfect solution!

Nika Los of Ukraine-based interior and product design firm Mooseberry design group emailed the other day. They have designed some really fun small apartments and while I am getting a computer-generated vibe, this one caught my eye and I had to share. The pastel colour palette is not usually my thing but with the white floors it is very bright and cheerful while being a bit subtle. Add a red Smeg fridge for some oomph and you’ve got a good thing going here.
(Sorry – hoping pets on furniture will be back next week. Send photos to desiretoinspirekim[at]hotmail[dot]com)

It’s a photoshoot for iconic Melbourne store Fenton & Fenton‘s quilts and rugs but to my it’s pure eye candy. Colour, pattern, layering. Love.

It has been a bit of a crap weekend so far – I am dealing with my second cold/throat infection in a month, and I spent 11 straight hours yesterday finishing up painting my living room (all I have left to do are the alcoves on either side of the back window once husband builds and installs shelves). It looks fantastic and I am really pleased. Photos to come once the room is complete and put back in order. And on a side note of happenings around here, I have a kitten rescue scheduled for Thursday (gawd help me) and a trip to Montreal Friday to pick up some vintage chairs for my dining room (!!!!). Anyway, it’s 5 am and before I head back to bed with the cats I leave you with one of the most eclectic homes I have seen in a while. It is located in Barcelona in a building built in 1910, and was formerly a jewelry shop. Now it is home to the owners of an antique shop – which makes complete sense once you see the fabulous interior. It is furnished with such random pieces from different eras yet somehow it all works. I thought I would share just a little bit of eye candy on this Friday afternoon. TGIF! While these may be product shots, it is one of those rare occasions when the photographer and stylist are so good, you don’t even notice the products right away. Photographed by Morten Borgestad.
