I found several awesome photos featuring pets on RIOetc so since yesterday’s pet post was a bust, I thought I would treat you guys to some Brazilian cats and dogs in its place. 🙂

A few months back simone had left a comment about a site called RIOetc that features “hipster houses in Rio de Janeiro”. I had totally forgotten about it until recently and I was pleasantly surprised to find not necessarily what I would call “hipster” homes but some really fun and creatively decorated spaces. The site was started back in 2007 by Renata Abranchs (fashion consultant) and Tiago Petrik (journalist). At the time Rio had a bad rap so they wanted to praise their beautiful city through its inhabitants and their creative capacity in a positive, colourful way (or something along those lines says Google Translate). And they feature all sorts of other Rio goodies like streetstyle, music, and street art. My fav new site! 

I absolutely adore these photos by Japanese photographer Gorta Yuuki. There is such a serene quality to them with such glorious lighting and low contrast and saturation (why does everyone over-saturate these days?!). So calming and beautiful. Having a crappy Monday? This is your cure. 

Sorry, there will not be a pets on furniture post today – I am a bit short on entries. 🙁 Instead I bring you this home designed by Australian architects Luchetti Krelle. I have pretty amazing leaded and stained glass windows in my new home but lawd half mursey these windows are my absolute DREAM.
