I was craving a little sophistication, a little hip and chic, and came across this loft by California design firm Caitlin & Caitlin (Caitlin McCarthy and Caitlin Murray) that does the trick. It is an eclectic mix of modern and Hollywood Regency, random colours and patterns, yet the marriage of disparate pieces makes for a very intriguing home. Love it!

I thought on this beautiful Sunday I would share one of the cutest homes I have ever seen. It is a completely refurbished (by Fossey Arora) 3 story mews home in London’s St. Lukes Mews that happens to be where the movie Love, Actually was filmed. It is SO GORGEOUS! The dark exterior makes it modern and stand out from all the other homes, the top floor kitchen/dining/living room combo is bright and inviting, the 2nd floor master bedroom suite is warm and relaxing, and the ground floor features a cozy sitting room and guest bedrooms. I love that the home has history, and was decorated traditionally but with lots of modern touches to keep it fresh and current. It is pretty much perfection. It is currently for sale with Domus Nova if someone wants to scoop it up! 😉

Fiddlehead Design Group is the Minneapolis interior design firm of Andrea Dixon and Jen Ziemer. I was perusing their website and found a list of their mantras, including the following: Never buy the set—matchy-matchy is nasty-nasty…Leopard, cheetah and zebra are neutrals…Less is more, bigger is better….Start with an amazing painting or a stunning rug—preferably both. Smart ladies! While their style lends itself towards traditional, they add touches like subway tiles, chalkboard walls and bold patterns to give a more modern twist. And I really like this first kitchen – cows and all.

Aloha Friday. Is that you I see peeping up on the horizon? That means the weekend isn’t fair away. In the meantime lets jump into photographer crush Graham Atkins-Hughes‘ portfolio and wallow in some of my fav images. Dark and dramatic, always guaranteed to bring a smile to my face.

A confection of classic 19th century era decor, Asian influences, cutting edge contemporary, colour and pattern and a clutter of mementoes. It could be the recipe for a frou frou disaster. Instead it is the inspiring and beautiful home of interior designer Suzy Vissers-Hunt (Suzy Hunt) and her husband, co-founder of Moooi, Casper Vissers in the Dutch city of Breda.
