Callender Howorth

The guy above is Mark Howorth, hanging out in the kitchen of his London duplex. He is the founder of Callender Howorth and shares his time between London and Nice in the South of France, working on design projects across Europe. (Lucky guy!) I am very fond of his style – it’s classy and modern yet has some mid-century and antiques thrown in to mix things up.

Just like friends of friends. People you get to know but don’t really know… if you know what I mean. Once again one of our friends from Freunde von Freunden have shared a few images from their latest interview and home and office tour. Patrice Bastian, creative director and architect, and Laetitia Schlumberger, fashion designer. An amazing house in the 10th arrondisement, Paris and an intiguing story of creative ideas and lasting love found in China. Just a tease here on Desire to Inspire. You’ll have to pop over to Freunde von Freunden to discover more. Photography by Fred Lahache. Story by Léa Munsch.

Matt Clayton

It’s a chilly day in my part of the world. Winter sunlight fights winter winds and the only thing that is warm is the end of my red nose from all the rubbing with a tissue. A bad case of flu needs rest and fluids and cheering up. What does this have to do with the über talented London based photographer Matt Clayton? Nothing much except that his wonderful portfolio is just the tonic I need to make it through the rest of today. Thank you Matt. Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go to bed.

The clock house

Have a look at this cool home for sale in London. It’s called The Clock House and is the former yard office for the long defunct Cannon Brewery, what used to be one of East London’s largest independent breweries. The brewery fell into disuse about 20 years ago and was converted into a residential home about five years ago. The current owner completed his renovations recently but is now keen to sink his teeth into a new project. The Clock House is a truly unique building – the clock on the tower still works. Now the decor is unfortunately nothing to get excited about but imagine the possibilities! I do love the kitchen – especially the large white painted rectangle on the hardwood floor. It’s like a massive washable rug. 🙂 (listed with Currell Residential
