I guess I didn’t think I was busy enough with my day job, this blog, a house wrecking/rebuilding project and 7 cats. I started a new project a couple of days ago that I wanted to introduce you to. For months my little sister’s husband has been bugging her and I to start a fashion blog together. I had been blogging some fashion content on my page of this blog and since Jen follows several fashion blogs (as do I) he thought maybe we could give this a go. We finally agreed after Christmas and designed up a fairly simple blog that is now live. It’s called closet rivalry which is perfectly suitable as Jen is currently a stay-at-home mom and owner of a home and cottage so her spending habits are quite a bit different than mine (I tend to be alot less frugal). And we might add in some non-fashion related stuff too as we go. We’re going to give this venture a shot and see what happens, so please stop on by!

I sang the praises of London-based photographer Simon Eldon only 3 months ago, but he contacted us recently to let us know he’s always updating his site. Sure enough, I went over to have a peek and there were new goodies ready for another post (including some he shot for digital magazine Heart Home I blogged about yesterday). These are fantastic shots as always, and I especially love that blue kitchen.

Still looking for last minute gifts? All done and deserve something special for yourself? Need a little design book inspiration? There is still time to visit a bricks and mortar bookshop (remember those from pre-Amazon days?) and pick up a copy of Martyn Thompson – Interiors. Come on let’s face it. We are all hard core interiors addicts and this is a book will feed that addiction so well. Thompson’s work is moody, dark, the antithesis of picture perfect. His photographs reek of atmosphere. He tells stories with shadows. A painter’s approach almost to what he captures through his lens. From the homes and creative spaces of John Derian and Thomas O’Brien to Achille Castiglioni and Hella Jongerius this book is so beautiful in the hand, so lush. Still a couple more shopping days left. Buy it for someone you know will appreciate it… yourself.

I wasn’t going to blog today as I am trying to get as much last minute cramming in for my French test in a few days (almost. done. thank. gawd) but I recently got wind of 2 tidbits of information regarding some Canadian happenings that I had to mention.
First up – the first issue of Pure Green Magazine has been mailed out and I cannot wait for my copy! It is centred around entertaining and looks fantastic from the teaser shots Editor in Chief Celine sent along. Get your subscription here!

Next up is some television news. Oone of my favourite design couples is finally coming back to HGTV Canada (better late than never, as it usually happens up here). Details after the jump.
Bob and Cortney Novogratz. Yep, that’s who. I love these guys – and I’m not just saying that because DTI was mentioned in their book. 😉 They have such funky, eclectic style and always manage to find the coolest vintage pieces around. We’ve blogged about them several times, and I watched their first show religiously when it finally aired up here. I am so stoked to hear their new show is making it up here too (going to make my sisters PVR it for me). The first episode is due to air on January 2nd @ 8 pm. We were sent some photos from this episode – a condo in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This “industrial but cozy in the city” look rocks, as always. (Photos by Matthew Williams)
…. and coincidentally they now have as many kids as I have cats.

As I mentioned earlier today, I had to share with you all a few photos of Priscilla Glover and Ivan Spaller‘s home. This is really quite astonishing, hence right up their alley. I am (on a rare occasion) rendered speechless. It is a High Tudor house that we have named Artamus Hall. Attached are pics of the facade – before – then lifted 5 ft. Then completely reworked. Now this…

wait for it….
…waaiitt for itttt….
