Tom Ferguson Architecture & Design

Posted on Mon, 14 Mar 2011 by midcenturyjo

Shortlisted for the Australian Interior Design Awards in the interior decoration category is this Pearl Beach house by Tom Ferguson (TFAD). It’s easy to see why. Extensive renovations to this 60s beach house have created a too cool, old school pad. Love the expanses of white juxtaposed with timber walls, the combination of mid century classics and beach shack hand me downs,  the walls of glass and of course that fireplace. Simplicity and style. The perfect combination.

More from Mexico

Posted on Sun, 13 Mar 2011 by KiM

As I mentioned in my last post, here are some favourite random photos I took on my trip to Puerto Vallarta – which, might I add, is a VERY safe city, unlike what you hear all the time on American news channels. Yes, there are some unsafe cities in Mexico but the news always generalizes to ALL of Mexico, which is really unfortunate. Not only is Puerto Vallarta safe, but gorgeous, incredible restaurants at every turn (I’ve got photos!), and perfect weather. (I should mention that some of the photos below were taken in the awesome surf town of Sayulita).

Clean lines, refined detailing, and comfortable elegance..these are crucial elements of the spaces created by Montreal-based interior designer Carlos Miranda.

Thank goodness that week is over

Posted on Fri, 11 Mar 2011 by midcenturyjo

What a week! I never want to go through one like it again! I had quite a health scare this week that included urgent CT scans, enough blood tests to turn me into a pincushion and a nervous wait for results. Good news and not so good news. Good news is it is not the worse case scenario. Not so good news is it is still serious but I have Doctor Gorgeous (how unprofessional of me but hubba hubba) working hard to get me well. Pills, rest, no stress and lifestyle changes… goodie! So please forgive me if this is a quickie stalking post before heading back to bed. I know I could get some much needed rest in this beach house at Avalon, Sydney. Not quite my style but enough gorgeous knick knacks to calmly rearrange. I find rearranging almost zen like. Maybe the good doctor makes house calls. No? I guess I am supposed to rest.
