Beale Lana

Randall Beale and Carl Lana are the creative geniuses behind Beale Lana. Can you tell from that opening sentence that I am enamoured of their work, their style? With backgrounds as diverse as fashion and theatre, it’s easy to see where the duo get their sense of drama and refinement. The rooms are definitely statements but Beale Lana pride themselves on focusing on their clients’ personal style. Collections obviously play an important role in personalising these spaces. I could definitely live in these rooms! Love, lust.

I love the simple lines, the beauty of the timber, the lush use of leaves and plants, the old battered pieces with crisp new furniture. Brad Ford is a New York based interior designer specialising in residential spaces.”Our interiors showcase signature designs that are understated yet sophisticated, straightforward, elegant and functional. Balance, light, space and color factor into every design, creating a timeless effect. Clean lines and simple but well-crafted furnishings, with an attention to texture and the highest quality materials are BFID essentials.”

Coburn Architecture

Coburn Architecture has a fabulous portfolio on their website…so good because it seems they also specialize in interior design. The rooms featured are decorated with such great colours and furniture, without alot of attention focused on any sort of obvious architectural features. The first 2 photos below are my favourites. I think it’s totally brilliant to make a cozy desk area out of an otherwise unusable space.

Gotta love cranberry velvet

Posted on Thu, 23 Aug 2007 by KiM

OK, maybe some of you don’t care for cranberry velvet but when I saw this couch on Craigslist I had to have it. My boyfriend and his friend picked it up for me tonight. (Thanks guys!) It was advertised as a Bauhaus sofa but that term seems to be used so loosely I figured that meant the style was Bauhaus. Turns out it is actually made by Bauhaus because it’s printed all over the fabric under the seat cushions. I really have no idea what that means – if the $80 my boyfriend paid for this was a steal of the century or not. If anyone out there knows any details of Bauhaus furniture, please share…I’m very curious. (P.S. My green wall sadly will have to go.)
