Fernlund + Logan Architects was established in New York in 1992 by Solveig Fernlund and Neil Logan. Their residential and commercial work has been published on numerous occasions, including in Dwell, Interior Design, The World of Interiors and the New York Times. I think I love their portfolio so much because their designs are simple which allows the furnishings to play a larger part in the design.

• May December Home is a little shop in Sebringville, Ontario, dedicated to the re-use of other people’s cast-offs and it’s a great new blog. Barb says it’s for people who like to roll up their sleeves and get busy on the weekends.
• Jenny posted this great piece on How To Give Your Home a Makeover — 8 Easy Steps on her blog boostle.
• New blog from Germany (in German) Inspirationen. Manuela has a new apartment and a blog full of things that are inspiring her as she renovates. Good luck with both Manuela.
• And finally Andyland have a new blog Living in Andyland. (Kim featured their work here.) Alexandra and Ulrika live in Stockholm so there is a naturally a focus on Scandinavian design. Absolute definite!! Where am I going to find time to fit in all these new blogs!

I love the work of San Francisco based Melander Architects. Whether modern, regional vernacular, adaptive re-use or historic conservation they believe that their most important skill is their ability to listen. The design process is a dialogue between client and architect.

Rosali emailed me the other day with an interesting request:
“Lately, I’ve noticed that beautiful green tufted chairs and sofas have shown up regularly on your site. I’m a big fan of tufted furniture and have several pieces but none green. I think that a post with a grouping of those green tufted pieces would make many people (or at least me) stand back in awe.”
Sounded like a pretty simple request. I think this photo was Rosali’s inspiration:

I too have a love for tuft, especially since purchasing a lime green tufted bench. It can make furniture that is drab and simple look glamorous. But after looking through TONS of photos, I couldn’t find many green tufted pieces. As a result, I’ve added some photos that have beautiful tufted pieces that are other colours as well.
