I am one of Damian and Britt Zunino of Studio DB‘s biggest fans. Their projects always completely win me over with their attention to detail (hello glossy ceiling in the living room – my next house I want to do this in every room), and their love of pattern and colour. Every single room in this Park Avenue residence is a stunner. Sophisticated yet liveable. (Photos: Matthew Williams)

(You can find a bunch more of their projects here)

Eclectic and colourful, with an overtone of granny chic. Which makes this home absolutely to die for because I love all of those things together. This is such a mash-up of styles, and the colours are so beautiful I can’t stop staring at these photos and inspecting every intriguing inch. Congrats to Chloe Warner of design firm Redmond Aldrich for turning this San Francisco carriage home into something spectacular.

Bold and colourful patterns in wallpapers, curtains, pillows and artwork are set against a neutral backdrop in this lively and inviting modern Tudor home designed by Dallas-based Abbe Fenimore of Studio Ten 25. It is really inspirational to see a designer take a fairly ordinary home and have alot of fun with it.

I love the idea of a second home/cottage/pied-à-terre – a home you can be brave with and do all the things you wouldn’t dare do in your primary residence. The owners of this pied-à-terre live in London and needed a space in the heart of Paris. Maéma Architectes took what is a beautiful 130 sq m structure, did a bit of re-working and added alot of charm and creativity in a Jonathan-Adler-esque style that is a bit quirky, colourful and fun.

Café Birdie in L.A.’s Highland Park neighbourhood is a little bit of Paris bistro style in California. Designed by ETC.etera, this firm accentuated the 1920’s structure with some sexy lighting, beautiful floral wallpaper, pretty pale colours. The black bentwood stools and chairs, iron and marble tables, marble topped bar and brass accents really add to the Parisian vibe. There is also a cocktail bar in behind called Good Housekeeping with exposed brick and a gold bar. I would loooove to spend my Sunday here!
