Sunday at the office

Like Jo always says, if you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend (for those not living the work from home pandemic life like I am) it helps if it’s somewhere stylish. San Francisco’s Monkey Inferno (a company I think now out of business) by Ken Fulk.

Martha’s Vineyard farmhouse

A perfect summer retreat. On a bucolic parcel of land in Chilmark, Sullivan + Associates and White Arrow transformed the town’s original post office into a contemporary Farmhouse. Our clients love to cook and entertain, so we designed their kitchen with a beautiful blue Lacanche oven, butternut and marble work surfaces, Waterworks fixtures, custom cabinetry to conceal top-of-the-line appliances, and a nearby stocked pantry. The home’s interiors take inspiration in the nearby ocean and farmland, with indigo-dyed canvas, warm textural linen, natural fibers, and leather.

I am forever a supporter of dark accents to an otherwise neutral colour scheme. It’s the drama that every home requires.

First impressions matter

You now what they say. First impressions matter and this wallpapered entry hall certainly makes a statement. Life’s too short for boring beige. Queen’s Gate Residence, London by Nebihe Cihan Studio.

I love this contemporary home designed by Gabriela Gargano of Grisoro Designs. It’s classic and timeless with unique furnishings and art that really make the rooms come to life and add a chic touch. Photos: Kirsten Francis

Pattern and color, curves and geometrics. The 1980s are back and this time they are oh so stylish. I call it Memphis Modern and Chicago-based Jen Talbot Design is a master practitioner.
