Playful, colourful and thoughtful. A small Georgian terrace has been given a new life under the talented hands of Sarah Peake of Studio Peake. Modern meets old and the result is a fabulous family home that to a foreigner like me is quintessentially English.

Terra-cotta, mustard, green and blue – such a beautiful array of colours. Since painting my dining room terra-cotta it’s one of my favourite wall colours and to walk into a home and immediately be surrounded by it….*sigh*. This entire home I just want to eat it up – especially the yellow kitchen. Not a single white wall in sight. And I’m not at all mad at that. Another to die for home designed by Reath Design. Welcome to Majesty’s Pleasure, a beauty bar & cocktail lounge in Toronto. The concept was the dreamland of an it-girl, contemporary and feminine with an unapologetic use of colour and materiality. Designer Josh Greene knocked this project out of the park! This was a complete renovation of a full-floor apartment on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. It is loaded with elegance and class which in my humble opinion is hard to pull off when using lots of colours and patterns. I especially love the lacquered cobalt blue walls of the library with the wallpapered ceiling. So dramatic! And must give props to the acid green silk rug in the dining room – what a statement!
