Live/work, green, sustainable, re-use, recycle, style, substance and fun! Chicago architects Wilkinson Blender wanted to save energy and materials with clever design and scrupulous reuse of materials from the original tavern building in this remodel. They even installed wind turbines on the roof to augment photo-voltaic cells. The roof top garden is perfect for entertaining that is if you can drag your friends away from the games room or the togo sofas. It’s smart, it’s stylish, it’s green and it’s sexy.

I used to live just down the block from this place! Love it! I'd try to sneak peeks of the interior while I'd be out walking my dogs… (okay, that sounds a lot creepier typed out… I swear I'm not a peeping-tom.)

I love the stone wall with the arcade game and robot things (2) and the white couches (3), which all strike me as very hipster-loft-esque.

For a different reason, this article was very interesting. The white couches you show are exactly the same as the set we bought in at the Art Shoppe in Toronto in 1977. We have since seen them in showrooms a few times in Paris. At the time we bought them they were covered in a dustry rose material. Around 1990 we had them recovered in white leather and today they still look brand new. And they really are very comfortable. You have excellent taste 😉
PS: You have done an incredible job redesigning your home
