Here is a small sample from the really cool portfolio of the architecture and interior design firm of Bia Prado, based in São Paulo Brazil. I could stare at the photo above for hours.

Steen & Aiesh

Posted on Wed, 9 Jan 2013 by KiM

Aina Sollie Steen and Tahani Aiesh are interior designers & stylists from Oslo, Norway and they rock my world scandi style. These spaces are so unassuming yet totally functional and gorgeous. I love the light, the dark, the neutral. And HELLO massive reclaimed wood mirror. I showed that to my husband and told him he HAS to make me for the next house. OH YES.

Michael Bechara encore

A sleek and clever kitchen and living room combo designed by Michael Bechara. An easy fusion of much needed storage and retro cool. Small space style and flair. (You can see more of Sydney based Michael’s work in this earlier post.)

Hôtel Paradis

Posted on Wed, 9 Jan 2013 by midcenturyjo

Inspired by the über cool (or should that be très cool 😉 interiors of the new Hôtel Paradis in Paris. With a quirky mix of vintage, midcentury and modern, the rooms in the 3 star boutique hotel designed by Chzon are layered with colour and pattern. Funky and fun and very reasonably priced. After all staying in style shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. I’ll take the room with the view thanks!

Sveinung Brathen

I thought I’d give you a short dose of eye candy this afternoon, via the fabulous photos of Norwegian photographer Sveinung Bråthen. I’ve got an emerald wall – the colour of the year says Pantone, some black – via a chalkboard wall in a dining room, a matte black kitchen cabinets (SWOON!), a black painted sections to highlight art (always been a fan of that technique), a black wall behind a black leather sofa (HOT!) and a couple of other goodies.
