Check out this fabulous loft by Dirk Denison Architects in collaboration with Sara Story Design. It’s just the right amount of modern design, sophistication and comfort. The black steel (?) beams and black framed windows are a cool, graphic touch, and I love the sleek integrated look to the kitchen cabinetry. Yep, I could certainly live here.

If only I could climb through my computer screen you would find me on this deck sunning and relaxing. I can hear the water in the kettle softly tumbling as it boils. Three interiors from Honolulu/San Francisco based interior design firm Philpotts. The first, a loft in SF with a distinct industrial vibe, dare one say, perhaps leaning a little towards steampunk. The second is a teenager’s room where every inch of the small space has been considered and put to use. Love the clever bed nook. Change the colours and accessories to suit your style because this design is a winner or should that be a pinner? Finally an Asian inspired show house room where the firm’s Hawaiian roots are subtly present.

A Slovakian reader named Michaela emailed us about this home in Orava, Slovakia that was featured recently on ArchDaily. WOW – check out this converted barn by architect Dannis Wedlick in upstate New York that photographer Michael Grimm sent over. I think my love for rustic spaces just increased ten fold. And forget my dream of wanting to live in a converted loft – make that a converted barn!
