Jimmy Schönning update

Posted on Thu, 19 Sep 2013 by KiM

It’s been a while since I first blogged the sweet pad of Swedish stylist/designer Jimmy Schönning, and I think an update is in order. His work is fabulous as always, if not better! Jimmy is obsessed with black, white and green interiors…and plants. Nothing wrong with this combo – it’s fresh, modern and timeless. I’ve saved some favourite spaces of his for a post later today so stay tuned!

Stalking summer

Posted on Thu, 19 Sep 2013 by midcenturyjo

I can smell summer. I can smell the salt in the air, the smoke from distant bush fires on the breeze. I can smell freshly caught fish on barbecues and sunscreen. I can hear waves softly lapping, gum leaves on gum trees dancing, the kids next door squealing in the pool and the soft putt putt putt of a dingy on the way out to a sail boat. I really can when I dream about this home I found real estate stalking. Palm Beach, Sydney on the Pittwater side. I could never afford it but I can dream and sniff the salt in the air. Link here while it lasts.

She gets it

Posted on Thu, 19 Sep 2013 by midcenturyjo

She just gets it. We’ve featured Australian photographer Armelle Habib many times on the blog and her work is always fresh and always inspiring. Candid and real, her images of amazing homes are amazing in themselves. There is no fight, no conflict, no awkward questions about whether it’s the great room or the great photographer. It’s both because this photographer gives us as good as she gets. Genius and that’s why her work is now being seen around the world. She works with the best, photographs the best and produces the best that appear in the best magazines. OK enough from the peanut gallery here. Enjoy!

Surprise!

Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli are architects from Italy whose work cannot be taken too seriously. They obviously have a thing for spaces that adapt to the owners needs and moods. One minute – a white box, the next – floral artwork. White kitchen cabinets are WAY FUNNER on the inside. And I love the map of Italy divided into multiple frames.

Artichoke

Artichoke is a group of designers of the highest quality bespoke kitchens, architectural interiors and furniture in the UK. This is what I would like to call kitchen porn folks. KITCHENS KITCHENS KITCHENS. And they are FAB U LOUS. There really is nothing like a massive island to really make a kitchen.
