TGIF

Posted on Fri, 31 Jan 2014 by KiM

It has been one of the longest weeks EVER, and I am grateful it is finally over because next week starts my badly needed vacation south! To end off the day, I wanted to share some fantastic interior photography by Mario C Melillo of Montreal. Happy Friday!

I’m eating out

Magda of Polish firm 2kul Interior Design emailed us the other day – it had been a while since she shared some of their work with us (check out this home and these apartments). They work on alot of commercial projects as well, and these are 2 restaurants they completed recently. This first one is a Vegan restaurant in Wrocław called Machina Organika – the tile is gorgeous, and I love the wooden beamed ceiling, adorable wire pendant shades and black painted arches.

This one is a bar and restaurant called Sofa, located in Jelenia Góra. That exposed brick is to die for (I need some in my life), and the black ceilings with the black tufted banquette and chairs make it HOT. It has a mobster sort of vibe that would totally have me hanging out here for a drink or 4.

Holly Bruce

There is something so dramatic about London based interior stylist Holly Bruce‘s work. Rich, deep colour. Dramatic. Perhaps not something to transfer directly to your living room or bedroom but oh the daydreams and schemes I am cooking up with my head full of Holly’s ideas.

Gold is the new silver

I have been trying to convince my husband for months now that brass fixtures are HOT. So far I have been unsuccessful, even after showing him the following photos of interior designer Yanic Simard‘s newly renovated kitchen, which is GORG! The existing cabinets were resprayed with Benjamin Moore’s 2062-20 Gentleman’s Grey which has alot of blue undertones. It’s beautiful against the marble counter and backsplash. And to make this kitchen extra special, a faucet with a beautiful custom brass finish and existing cabinet pulls were electroplated to match. They even work with the stainless appliances. I’m sold!

Toronto Interior Design Group

Yanic Simard, principal of Toronto Interior Design Group, designs spaces for folks who like a little sass and a little brass. There’s something graphic, something shiny, something furry, something bright, something reflective in every space, making for some serious eye candy in styles ranging from modern to traditional. Coming up later – Yanic’s own newly renovated kitchen.
