Natasha Louise King

I put these posts together in the wee small hours before I head out to start the day. Sometimes in the predawn light (I really mean “ungodly hour”) I need a little cheering up. Stylist Natasha Louise King does it for me. Happy, bright, fun, little ray of sunshine. I have a smile on my face. Via her agent Tricia Joyce Inc.

A modern NYC townhouse

Posted on Tue, 4 Mar 2014 by KiM

I love everything about this modern 3200 sq ft townhouse in Brooklyn by architect Ben Hansen. I want to pick it up and move it right where my existing crap 12′ wide house is now. What’s not to love?! A simple but modern exterior, massive windows on both ends to let in tons of light, several exterior spaces, unfussy, clean interior layout…this is going in my inspiration folder.

Masculine mountain modern in Manhattan

This is the Manhattan apartment of Will Nathan (co-founder of Homepolish, a company that connects interior designers with clients who don’t necessarily have massive budgets). Homepolish’s other co-founder, Noa Santos, helped him create this homey environment with touches of modern, rustic and masculine elements that work so well against the apartments fabulous features like the brick wall and beamed skylight. I especially love the shelf/rod combo above the bed – awesome in a small space because it eliminates the need for bedside tables (and the rods are just hooked through the shelf brackets).

Stalking the view …

… and the position and the harbour and the terrace. It’s just that you’ll need a lot of money for a lot of garden terrace, luxury finishes and that view. Thankfully you can moor your luxury boat close by. How the 1% live in Woolloomooloo, Sydney. Link here while it lasts.

Little white box

“Townhouse in Landskrona. The narrow site is sandwiched between very old neighboring buildings. Three thin slabs are projected into the open volume, softly dividing its functions. The continuous interior space is opening up to the street, to an intimate garden, and to the sky.”

A stylish white box takes root like a weed in a city sidewalk crack, grows towards the sun and shows that it is a beautiful flower. Clever urban infill design by Swedish architectural firm Elding Oscarson.
