Working on a Saturday

Posted on Sat, 3 Dec 2016 by midcenturyjo

It’s my almost weekly mantra. If you have to drag yourself into work on the weekend it better be somewhere stylish. I would definitely love to work at the Los Angeles branch of the Museum of Broken Relationships by the Brown Design Group. Why? 1) It meets the cool design criteria and 2) Hellooooo it’s the Museum of Broken Relationships!

A classic beauty by Kate Marker

I just want to frolic through this absolutely beautiful home in a pair of linen pants and a white blouse while listening to Adele with a Goldendoodle puppy biting at my heels. Not sure where I came up with that, but it’s been a helluva long week and I just want to sink into every piece of furniture in these photos and take the most epic nap. Friday at last, the end of the working week and I couldn’t think of a better place to kick off my shoes, collapse on the couch and indulge in a chilled wine or two than this fabulous courtyard by Marylou Sobel. The rest of the Rose Bay, Sydney house is pretty special too but you’ll have to head over to the website to check it out. Then come back and join me in a drink.

Love the juxtaposition of old stone and modern glass in this conversion in the ancient city of Safed, Israel by Henkin Shavit Architecture & Design. The history is palpable. The future is present.

Earthy vibes in Ibiza

I have warm, paradise-style locations on my mind as my winter holiday to Puerto Vallarta is booked and I am already sick of this dark, gloomy and cold weather. This island getaway in Ibiza has me dreaming about all the things I miss in winter and makes me want to cry it is so beautiful. Natural and earthy, rustic and raw, textured and tranquil.
