A funky Brooklyn brownstone

Posted on Wed, 7 Dec 2016 by KiM

I remember seeing this home quite some time ago and being completely smitten. I stumbled upon it again recently and was shocked that we hadn’t featured it yet. After all of this time I still wish I had the balls to graffiti something in my home. Brooklyn brownstone with funk by Kelly Behun.

A really good kitchen really makes a home. And that is why I am starting off this post with the kitchen. It is DIVINE. From the flooring (matte black painted wood?) and the amazing stove to those freaking windows!! I DIE FOR THOSE WINDOWS!!! This home is such a lovely blend of styles – a bit industrial, classic, vintage, European, masculine…it all works so well together. I frankly would do anything for that kitchen and bathroom XOXO. Hump day getaway

Posted on Wed, 7 Dec 2016 by midcenturyjo

It’s Wednesday, hump day, the working week half done but still the promise of the weekend is just out of reach. If we can’t escape our everyday humdrum then perhaps we can take a virtual getaway to a slice of South African heaven. From its luxury bedrooms and spa-like bathrooms, to its rooftop jacuzzi and an infinity pool overlooking the African bush, to the quirky hippo skeleton hanging above the dining table, the Leobo Private Reserve lodge hits every fantasy getaway note. It even has its own observatory. Via Luxe Houses.

Bold, graphic, bright…and maybe the funnest white kitchen I have ever seen! I am head over heels for these spaces by Ann Lowengart

Ann Lowengart and some mostly neutral spaces

Ann Lowengart is quite a versatile designer. As you will see in the majority of this post it’s all about sophisticated and chic neutral spaces that are timeless and very inviting. She has also had her way with bright, bold, daring colour combinations which you will see a bit here and in my next post. Whichever style you prefer, they are all jaw-dropping gorgeous.
