Did you know I painted this chair!? When I bought it from the consignment section of an auction warehouse, the fabric was a faded yellow floral & the legs were skirted. I peeked under the skirt and saw fabulous legs, so I ripped that thing right off!! 🙈 . The shape was right, but the fabric all wrong. I thought about reupholstery, which I’ve done to another armchair. But, even doing it myself, the cost of new fabric adds up quick & the labour is tedious. Plus, despite the fabric being a colour that I couldn’t stomach, the condition of the original fabric was still excellent. . I’d seen examples of people having painted fabric furniture & owned lots of leftover latex house paint. I figured I could always fall back on reupholstering if I royally fucked up, so I had nothing to lose but the $12 for fabric medium! 🙌 . Turns out, the hardest part was deciding to go for it! I followed directions on the bottle, thinned my paint, and applied a few thin coats to achieve opacity, with ample dry time in between each layer. Easy peasy! . The end result is so much like a retro vinyl or oilcloth that it still totally suits the chair & now the colour totally suits me! I think it suits little Mu too!! 😉🐕❤️ . . . . . . . . #thechurchhouse #diydecor #moreismoredecor #hautebohemians #currenthomeview #myvintageabode #colourmyhome #brightboldhome #paintedfurniture #colorismyjam #beforeandafterbabes #makehomematter #mycollecteddecor #yourhomeisyourcanvas #trashtotreasure #howyouthrift #youcandoitdecor #interiorinspo #mycollecteddecor #greathomestaketime #thenewbohemians #thrifted #vintage #progress #pocketofmyhome #womanmade #colourmyhome #eclecticliving #showkateyourvintage #myfirsthome

And some from me, of course. Phoebe checking out our new PVC rug from Lot 7 I picked up Saturday, Felix in his favourite afternoon napping spot, and Frankie wondering what I’ve brought home now (a repro tin ornament from Highjinx ).
