“Chinampa” is the name given to the floating gardens used for cultivation by the Aztecs. It’s also the name of a one-bedroom 58ft widebeam canal boat on London’s Regent Canal. That’s right I’m real estate stalking a London canal boat and why not? It’s a wonderful mix of vintage and bespoke, romantic and stylish. I might not dream of running away to the high seas but I could very easily settle into this small and beautifully formed home afloat. Link here while it lasts.

Casa Pueblo

Posted on Thu, 11 Jul 2019 by midcenturyjo

Time for a virtual getaway. We’re escaping to a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel Casa Pueblo in Tulum, Mexico. “At the nexus of tropical bohemianism and clean urban design, the hotel offers a host of features, from fresh dining options, to a sparkling pool, an organic coffee shop, and 16 beautifully appointed rooms.” Simple and stylish luxury in a beautiful part of the world. Couldn’t think of a better escape even if it’s only a virtual one … for now.

Loving this mudroom/living room/kitchen/dining redo in a Massachusetts home by ID8 Design Studio. Super casual for family living, but super stylish and fun. And the cat matches. 🙂

Kitchen designs by ID8 Design Studio

I was perusing the portfolio of Sashya Thind Fernandes’ design firm ID8 Design Studio and was blown away by all of the fabulous kitchens so I thought I would do a post to highlight them. Each one has something unique that really adds drama – whether it be a green tile floor, tiny glass tile backsplash, wood accents, a graphic cement encaustic tile floor, brass hardware and trim, boldly veined marble….it all works so SO well.

Sunny Scandinavian Californian style

When a textile and jewellery designer approached Brad Krefman of BK Interior Design to redesign her home in the hills of Mill Valley, California what was the result? A home that is bright and open, functional with high end finishes, light filled and fabulous, contemporary with a Scandinavian vibe, the perfect home for the client and her family.

P.S. If you love that fabulous painting in the dining room it’s Cool With Chloe, 2015 40×42 inches, acrylic on cut paper by Reed Anderson.
