Some odd and some not so odd spaces

Posted on Mon, 31 Oct 2011 by KiM

I’ve got about 5 minutes to get this post ready as I REALLY must get back to studying (although I’m thinking that at this point, stabbing myself in the eye with a dull spoon would be SOOOO much more interesting). Luckily Jo has agreed to post for me tomorrow and Wednesday while I cram my brains out. So I quickly went looking into my folder of goodies and came across more photos I had saved from the Israeli site bvd back when I had found this overly industrial apartment. There was a gamut of spaces – from totally odd to modern and cool. Here is a bit of both – odd first, not so odd after the jump.

Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 31 Oct 2011 by KiM

If you’d like to send us photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow our basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Thanks! (Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to  desiretoinspirekim[@]hotmail[.]com and PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet!)

My not so little Frenchie lives to lounge on a window sill which serves as my headboard. Amongst my mostly handcrafted treasures, He’s the best accessory.

This is 5-month-old Bodi trying on a costume (for our blog) for the very first time.  On a (bad) design note, really need to close in the sides of the bookcases flanking the bay window!

Another funky London home

Posted on Fri, 28 Oct 2011 by KiM

Another lovely home from Domus Nova. This time I’m loving the 2 sofas, the quirky art – except maybe the saddle and the demon with boobs in the dining room- and all furnishings but the dining table. What NOT to do with silver leaf. (Does it drive anyone else nuts that there is no light fixture above the dining table?!)

Brilliant paint ideas

My twin sister found these photos on Sköna hem on our lunch break and I had to post them because I think these are absolutely brilliant ways to achieve high impact looks with a little bit of paint. And into my inspiration folder they go!
