Warm modern with a European influence

A very neutral colour palette with light wood, brass and some subtle bits of darkness…all with a touch of European flair make for such a relaxing and timeless pairing. Located in Edmond, OK, this beautiful home was designed with an English Revival style focus. The goal was to create a backdrop for balancing both beauty and function for this family. Pairing of old with new in many of the design elements, including a 200-year-old vintage Italian marble stone sink used in the powder bathroom. Vintage modern is a signature style of the Kelsey Leigh Design Co. brand this home is a perfect example of that.

What was once the very dated mid century Nashville home of country singer Tammy Wynette, is now a chic, hollywood glam meets contemporary cool and casual space with one of the sweetest pools I have ever seen. How much of a challenge would furnishing a home with so many curved walls be?! ‘TammyWood’ designed by Rachel Halvorson.

The power of wallpaper

Wallpaper creates instant drama or texture in any space. Sure, it’s a commitment but if you’re brave enough it can work wonders. In the case of Mendelson Group Inc. it makes a frequent appearance and often times is used in a more subtle via grasscloth which adds such a warm texture and can be alot more subtle than using a print. In my home I have wallpaper in my foyer/staircase/upstairs hallway and almost 5 years later I could not love it more. Hopefully this post will be inspiration for you to try out some wallpaper in your home.

High intensity colour and pattern

High intensity colours and patterns can be found throughout this San Juan, Puerto Rico condo designed by Stewart Rodriguez. From the moment you step out of the elevator you know you are in for a treat. The fashion editorial photograph of the glass encased model sets the tone of what’s behind the main door. Bold colors and art are the inspiration for this interior designer’s home. Fearless to kelly green walls that wrap the living room and dining room allow for the eclectic furniture pieces to come alive. The combination of a pink chair with the yellow sofa show how strong colors palettes can work perfectly in a space. The dining room is a stunning blend of modern with old romanticism. The “Study for ‘La Grande Jatte’, by Georges Seurat, 1884-5” in the National Gallery and the amazing fashion editorial piece of Alice in Wonderland by a Barcelona fashion photographer create a dining room to remember. The master bedroom chinoiserie wallpaper with the bold patterns on the upholstered bed make a bold move look peaceful and chic. This home is a great testament of living surrounded by the things you love…

Sunday at a bar

It’s Sunday and all I want is warm weather and a pandemic-free world. Is that so much to ask for?! I remember a time when hanging out at a bar or restaurant was no big deal, and this bar, Buha|i|rest in Budapest, would be a fabulous spot to gather with friends and enjoy some drinks. Designed by Roman Plyus, this beautiful space with it’s terracotta tones and curved furnishings and repetitive circles is eye candy. Hopefully the drinks are as yummy as the decor.
