I spotted the south of France home of New York designer Annie Moore at Nuevo Estilo and instantly fell completely in love. I could barely get past the first photo above because having a little potting shed is something I desperately want and this space is absolutely gorgeous. Then when I was finally able to move along, the beautiful architectural details with some rustic elements and an eclectic blend of classic furnishings with a nod towards retro (gawd how I love white marble Saarinen dining tables) did me in. When the temperature is right, I want to be right here. 

When I have time to catch up on some reading, I want to be sprawled on the sofa right here. (That wall colour!)

When catching up with a friend, we want to be right here. 

When I want husband to cook me an epic meal, we want to be right here. 

When I want to take in the scenery and enjoy a cup of tea, I want to be right here. 

When I want to enjoy the sunshine and some BBQ, I want to be right here.

Come on in, kick your shoes off, grab a cozy blanket and get settled into that chair or the corner of that sofa and I will pour you a glass of wine. Relax and prepare yourself for today’s dose of eye candy care of CLOTH & KIND. This is where interior design magic happens. (P.S. Magic happened here and here too)

Man, do I ever wish I had a place to hang out in that was this cool growing up. I’m going to bet this teen suddenly became a VERY popular kid when this project was completed. What can only be described as the ultimate ‘man cave’, Inhouse Brand Architects has converted the unused lounge area of a Fresnaye (Cape Town, South Africa) residence into an industrial-inspired dream pad for the family’s lucky teenage boy and his friends. Polished concrete flooring encompasses the entire room and sets the foundation for the interior scheme. 

Another striking design feature comes in the form of a grandiose, curved timber wave that cascades from the ceiling down to the floor to create an extraordinary zone for watching movies. This “wave” is crafted out of steel fins that are clad with timber and lit up with three LED strips. It is kitted out with surround sound to produce a genuine movie theatre experience.

Next to the bar and adjacent the timber wave is comfortable booth seating. Framed with timber and upholstered in inviting shades of indigo, this nook provides an enticing ‘chill’ spot.

A fully functional concrete skate bowl plays a major part in the design. To embellish this remarkable feature, emerging South African street artist, Jack Fox, applied his signature illustrations to the walls surrounding the bowl. 

Mitzi Maynard + Lori Paranjape + Andria Fromm + Olivia Carswell + Clare Kennedy + Lauren Debello + Megan Holt are the talented ladies from Nashville behind Redo Home + Design. Spaces that pack a punch with lots of bright white, bits of bold colour added in perfect amounts, graphic artwork adding drama…an overall chic and sophisticated vibe with a casual note.
