Lofty dreams

A smile twitched across her lips as she started to climb the stairs to bed. The loft was perfect. She couldn’t believe that it was now her home. She had worked hard to make it happen. The open space, her carefully curated classic furniture, the artwork, the hard edged industrial vibe with just enough creature comforts…. Was that an alarm she heard? Time to get up already? Oh Jo you have been dreaming again! The Oriental Warehouse Loft by Edmonds + Lee. Sweet dreams indeed.

Help! Look what the painters did to my floor! I have spent all day trying to save it but I admit defeat. Perhaps you can help with suggestions on improving this sorry state of affairs? My suggestion is a jam and cream donut.

I just sacked the painters

My 150 year old floor is ruined. There is paint spilled everywhere. The job is as dodgy as all get out and I have a massive weekend of cleaning ahead of me. And this is just one room I’m talking about. I have saved the rest of the house! Please forgive me if I post another stalking house. I find this one calming. So lovely. So restful. So beautifully painted 😉 Wish me luck. I’m heading back upstairs with a bottle of wine and a paint scraper to rescue what is left of the once beautiful patina on my cedar floors. Link for this lovely house here while it lasts.

Off the wall

Hello Craig Wall! Welcome to Desire to Inspire. Love your work. Scrub that. LOVE your work. Fun, relaxed, cool and casual. New photographer crush? I think so. Love the white bright light in these shots. So Aussie, so fresh. Great eye, great understanding. You make me want these rooms. Inspirational, aspirational.

Life’s a beach here too

A little beach side shack would be perfect at this time of the year (remember it’s summer here in the land of Aus) and after Kim’s post yesterday I thought I’d share another shack I found while real estate stalking. Somehow I don’t think you could call this Sunshine Coast waterfront home a beach shack though. Minimalist modern lines with hard edges but loads of luxury. The public areas are particularly appealing. Imagine that view as you rinse the dishes (if you ever do rinse your dishes). The architect is Frank Macchia and the real estate link here while it lasts.
