Love the portfolio of Australian photographer Dan Magree. He’s a favourite of Aussie interior magazines and it’s easy to see why. Beautiful white bright light, great compositions and fabulous subjects. The glam woman in the first pic is Lyn Gardener of Empire Vintage, a to die for Melbourne shop and that high back pink chair is a Grant Featherston Expo Sound chair (there are speakers in the top) originally designed for the Australian pavilion at the Montreal World Fair 1967. I’m desperate to get my hands on one. But back to Dan Magree’s work. Don’t miss the rest of his portfolio. It’s truly inspiring.

Two more plants made it into my home this weekend. I have been totally inspired by all the retro rooms from Decorating With Plants, A House and Garden Book, by Marybeth Little Weston,The Condé Nast Publications, Pantheon Books, New York, 1978. I have to be careful now that I don’t go overboard and create a jungle. As long as I can see where the furniture is I should be fine.

I was real estate stalking…. again, when I came across this great idea for a bathroom vanity. Find yourself an interesting deco dresser, remove the mirror (better still find one without – it will be so much cheaper), install the plumbing and then you’ll have the perfect one off vanity for your very understated red bathroom. I’ve included a couple more photos just to give you a feel of the warehouse this bathroom is in. Unfortunately not enough fabulous photos to satisfy my curiosity. One question though. Why don’t people clean before the real estate photos? The dirty marks on the doors are driving me crazy and the soap scum on the red tiles? It must go 🙂

It’s the countdown to the weekend and what better way to start it than these fun and fabulous photos by Thomas Loof. White light you can almost cut with a knife it is so crisp and clean. Great composition and interesting crops. The portfolio is so stylish but what else did you expect from one of the best photographers around? Click on them to drink in all the goodness. Love it!

Some people never grow up but some people do something a lot more special and never lose the wonder of a child. That’s how I like to think about The Shopping Sherpa. She has collected the most amazing collection of vintage and contemporary doll’s houses and furniture. More than that she has recreated interiors that most of us would love to live in. (OK OK either we would have to be only a few centimetres tall or the houses would have to grow to life size.) The collection is even part of an exhibition at The Canberra Museum and Gallery that started on October 7 and runs till the end of January.
