Toowong Apartment

Posted on Thu, 4 Aug 2016 by midcenturyjo

Brisbane-based interior design firm Wrightson Stewart‘s latest project is an extensive interior refurbishment of an apartment in inner-city Toowong. Colour blocking gives the space a fresh, youthful feel with just a hint of 80s retro while the wood on white of the bedroom and bathroom have a scandi energy. Bespoke joinery and pieces from their WSworkshop line mean this once cookie cutter apartment now has its own unique style.

Minimal and masculine

This small Lower Fifth Ave, New York apartment by Ashley Darryl is a chic, eclectic mix of vintage and new, with emphasis on a sleek, minimal masculinity. Anyone else crushing on those living room chairs? Such slender, sexy legs.

In May of 2012 I featured the Tel Aviv apartment of Scott of Talmon Design. He recently got in touch with us and shared some photos of his new apartment. With a bit of a different vibe and colour palette this time around, it is a cool mix of modern and vintage and some pieces that have since been reupholstered. Thanks for sharing Scott!

Love

Love love love the black window trims in this apartment (via Entrance Fastighetsmäkleri) although I may be a little biased because my own doors and windows are painted black at home. So dramatic. So lush. So easy.

Stalking two on a Tuesday

Posted on Wed, 13 Jul 2016 by midcenturyjo

It’s two for Tuesday, not pizza but properties I’ve been stalking. The first is a moody, masculine apartment in inner-city Sydney while the second, in the Melbourne suburb of Malvern, is a modern extension to an Edwardian house by architect Geoff Challis with landscape design by Rick Eckersley. You can find the links here and here while they last.

Addendum: Hmmm it’s actually Wednesday and I’ve been blithely carrying on as if it was Tuesday. Wednesday not Tuesday. Sad thing is I can’t remember where my Tuesday went. Apologies over 🙂
