White walls seem to be getting a bad rap this days. All those insipid white walls. There is nothing washed-out about this Swedish apartment though. Moody greys add depth and character, acting as a foil to all the Scandi white. A small 32 m² home with style and personality recently sold by Stockholm real estate brokers Historiska Hem.

I found another apartment for sale on Lagerlings that I had to share. This one is spunky and fun in a fairly small footprint (63 m²). It consists of basically 2 rooms – a combined kitchen/dining room/living room and a bedroom. Some photography framed and hung along with a gallery wall add some drama to the walls and the floor to ceiling shelving in the dining room is a great storage solution and also adds some architectural interest to the space. A glamorous bedroom with stripes, satin curtains and faux fur round off the drama. (And I’m guessing the homeowner found a really awesome sale on Kartell Bourgie lamps).

Welcome to the wonderful home of Mr.Fräg, a wonderful scandi oasis of wood and white and fabulous furniture. Except it’s not in any Scandinavian country. No it’s in an apartment in Sydney, Australia and Mr.Fräg is Frag Woodall, an industrial designer whose recently debuted at Milan Design week.

Located at 5 rue de Charonne in Paris is fashion brand Marie-Sixtine‘s flagship boutique, creative workshop, showroom, and above it all, their highly-exclusive chic hideaway called Chez Marie-Sixtine. One of the most beautiful apartments I have ever seen in pastels and greys, so soothing and inviting. Except I don’t think I could ever leave that bedroom. EVER. The makeover of this inner city Sydney pied-à-terre saw a nondescript apartment become a celebration of personality and charm. Too often inner city living is thought of in terms of slick finishes and sharp lines, hip and hard. Not here. It’s all about colour, pattern, a stunning harbour view and a whole lot of fun.
