A designer’s colourful home in Mexico City

Posted on Tue, 26 Oct 2021 by KiM

Last year I featured the pattern-a-licious Guatemalan home of designer Rodman Primack. It seems he has since packed up and moved to Mexico City where his new home is awash with colour and patterns and some groovy mid-century furnishings. So much fun!!! (Photos: Stephen Johnson)

It’s fresh and fun, colourful and sophisticated. It may be traditional but it’s certainly not fuddy duddy. Why it’s overstuffed with inspiration! Park Avenue Pied-à-Terre by CeCe Barfield.

An apartment in Biarritz inspired by the view

Posted on Thu, 14 Oct 2021 by KiM

You would think ocean views in an apartment in Biarritz would be the shining moment but this entire apartment is designed with the most exquisite attention to detail with lots of curves and colours and patterns inspired by the ocean and the views from the windows. An absolute gem inside and out. Designed by Claude Cartier. Photos by Francis Amiand.

With a preference for natural materials such as wood and stone, metals and linen María Santos of the eponymous Estudio María Santos weaves her design magic to create light filled spaces that are as graceful and elegant as they are functional and focused on detail.

The collector

This Justicia, Madrid apartment is not only light-filled but overflowing with antiques, artworks and a joyous, maximalist spirit. Not for the faint hearted (the dusting alone must take a week before one has to start all over again) but always intriguing, tempting. Elegant, sophisticated and just a little challenging. The perfect home for an enquiring mind by Ramon Garcia Jurado.
