A stylish neutral apartment

Posted on Thu, 26 Nov 2020 by midcenturyjo

Neutral doesn’t mean boring nor does it mean sitting on the fence when it comes to decorating choices. No. Neutral means calm sophistication, light, fresh, perhaps a little earthy. Neutral is a balance, an understanding. A designer’s home

“This is my home and my sanctuary. It is full of art, sculpture, textiles and objects that I have collected and curated and spans design eras, continents and my evolving design appreciation … The term ikigai is a Japanese concept which means ‘a reason for being.’ The word ‘ikigai’ is usually used to indicate the source of value in one’s life or the things that make one’s life worthwhile. Aside from my loved ones, my ikigai is design. I am a curator, creator and forager.”

Oh so French

Posted on Wed, 18 Nov 2020 by midcenturyjo

Luxury details in a Haussmannian apartment. Isn’t that what we all crave in our dream Parisian home? Located between Place de la Concorde and the Elysée Palace, this 230m2 home has a fresh contemporary look with that oh so French style. “Faubourg Saint-Honoré” by interior architects and designers Le Berre Vevaud.

“A former ballroom is the setting of this exquisitely designed two-bedroom apartment. It is situated on highly sought-after Courtfield Gardens in Kensington, with a private balcony terrace overlooking a verdant churchyard square, to which it has resident’s access … The design seizes on the dramatic scale offered by four-meter ceilings and huge south-facing French windows at the front aspect.”

Apologies for posting more amazing homes from The Modern House. I had no idea that Kim had posted one of their properties yesterday until after I had uploaded these fabulous pics but I don’t think you’ll mind. I mean look at this apartment! The soaring ceilings, the Crittall wall, that verdant balcony with views over a churchyard AND all in Kensington. Out of my price range but a girl can dream.
