Designers and partners Luke Edward Hall and Duncan Campbell live in an apartment in North London that occupies the second floor of a mid-nineteenth century townhouse. They love of vintage and mixing periods is evident in their home, as well as their love of colour and experimenting with paint. The first group of photos are from Luke’s website when the apartment was a study in green, and the second group are from Duncan’s website when pink and yellow were doing their thing.

There are a couple of my dream scenarios intersecting in this Chelsea loft by Tali Roth Interior Design. Yes it’s a loft. It’s in New York. Light is flooding in and it’s predominantly white. Sigh. I don’t live in a loft or in New York. I do have the light but with a dog and a husband who doesn’t realise he’s made a mess at times (he’s blind) white sofas are definitely out of the question. Lucky I’m happy with what I’ve got but a girl can dream of an oh so lovely, far away, light, bright loft.

The East London apartment of interior stylist Laura Fulmine is well….EVERYTHING. Of course it is styled to perfection but OMG the colours! Kicking things up a notch with some royal blue and brass accents in this Kyiv, Ukraine apartment by Emil Dervish. The apartment located on the fifth floor of a pre-revolutionary period (the early 20th century) apartment building in the heart of Kyiv was designed by Emil Dervish for his friend Marc Raymond Wilkins. The apartment features high ceilings (3.7m) and unusual shape. The name of the apartment Birdsnest is explained by the fact that it is located on the top floor in a tower with a cone-shaped roof. The finishing of the apartment focuses on a creating a cozy atmosphere − warm wood textures, ivory plaster walls, and ceiling made of old concrete blocks, brass elements. The pieces of furniture and such details as window and door handles were specially designed for this project, sofa and armchairs were transported from Berlin. The kitchen sink used to belong to Marc’s great-grandfather, and the piano used to belong to his mother. The apartment is decorated with a range of vintage pieces, unique prints, and paintings, for example, the portrait of a man in the bedroom is a painting by the owner’s father.

I’m real estate scrolling in the Melbourne bayside suburb of St Kilda and I think I’ve found the perfect pied-à-terre but it’s more than just somewhere to drop your bags and head out into cosmopolitan city. Small in size but definitely big in style. No wonder because this bijou gem is the work of interior stylist Lynda Gardener.  It’s going to auction next month. Seriously tempted.
