A designer’s former Atlanta home

Posted on Fri, 9 Sep 2022 by KiM

Vibrant, courageous, curated, elegant, bold, whimsical… the former Atlanta home of interior designer Danielle Rollins was about as unique as they come. Her attention to detail and ability to blend so many colours and patterns and styles….it’s incredible and takes soooo much talent.

The maximalist home of Hollis Loudon

I came across the portfolio of designer Hollis Loudon Puig of Hollis Loudon Interiors and this first project blew my mind. After some brief sleuthing I discovered it was Hollis’ own maximalist, whimsical home in Loudonville, NY. that she had gut-renovated. It is A LOT of colour and pattern and then some more pattern and I know it’s not to everyone’s taste but I soooo admire her creativity and uniqueness. She even has a room devoted to antique Christmas decorations!

Revisiting Rita Konig

Posted on Thu, 1 Sep 2022 by KiM

I consider Rita Konig an interior design icon and since it’s been a quite some time since I featured her (there was this post back in 2014, and this one a couple years ago) I thought I would share a smattering of photos from her portfolio. Love her style so much.

Set discreetly on Queensdale Road, in a conservation area near Holland Park, is this generous four-bedroom Victorian home. At the back of the maisonette, a leafy garden, perfect for languorous afternoons soaking up the sun, extends 50 ft behind the house. In front, the living room overlooks a pretty terrace of pastel-coloured houses. The house has been decorated by its current owner, an actress, in a playful and eclectic style inspired by her time spent working at Graham & Green furniture store in Portobello. It is currently filled with a unique combination of antique pieces and colourful furnishings, which provide the perfect backdrop for her art and ceramics.
This home could not be more quaint, inviting and cozy. Give me a big mug of tea, a book and an afghan and plop me on a chair with a cat and leave me be 🙂 Currently for sale via Inigo.

Moody hues in a penthouse by Jane Hallworth

Posted on Fri, 26 Aug 2022 by KiM

A cinematic color palette of olive green distemper is the interior version of a camera obscura; moody hues urge one to focus attention on a world beyond – city lights and formidable views –before turning your attention to the crafted interior. Designed specifically for entertaining, this space is intimate during the day and dashing at night. In this 4,000 square foot space, a gathering of people and fine art by masters such as Louis Bourgeois, Mark Grotjahn and Jean Dubuffet mix well in purposefully rustic, modern comfort.  A layered collection of textured textiles, industrial, antique and modern pieces contrast the sleek lines of this penthouse, creating an environment that is at once studious and negligently glamorous.
I love this industrial, rustic and edgy look. Designed by Jane Hallworth.
